Hello! If you are learning art from me, this page is where you can find any schedule changes, general class info, and resources to aid in your art journey! See you in class! :)
Hi everyone, I am so sorry for the short notice but I will not be able to hold art classes today , 3/20/25. Below you can find today's planned lessons, with links to youtube. I strongly encourage you to try these at home if you are able! I will see you all next week and update here what we at BLCC decide to do. to make up this missed class. Thank you so much for your patience!
Note: Parents, for the youth craft I suggest having your kiddos tear the pieces of construction paper instead of using scissors, and also to use glue sticks if avalable.
This second half of the winter art sessions, we're painting birds! We'll be using watercolors mainly, with a couple acrylic projects thrown into the mix as well. Materials provided.
We're starting with the basic building blocks this week and focusing on feathers! Using the wet-into-wet technique, we'll be getting comfy with imperfection and the unpredictable nature of watercolor.
We're continuing with the wet-into-wet technique to create a stunning yet delicate image of one of my favorite harbingers of Spring: Hummingbirds. We'll be loosely following along Dana Fox's hummingbird painting on Pg. 47, except we'll be using colors of our choosing.
We're painting some adorable, simple-yet-effective bluebirds today! Using simple shapes and the wet-into-wet technique, we can create recognizable and adorable birds in a variety of poses.
Winter Session 2 is upon us! Every week we'll be doing something new. Check back here for updates!
Blind contour drawing is a drawing exercise that involves drawing the outline of a subject without looking at the paper. It's a way to improve hand-eye coordination and observational skills.
It's getting warmer outside! To celebrate, we'll be painting some Spring flowers with my favorite painting tool: our hands!
Today we're painting with paper! We'll be drawing a flower, and using torn or cut pieces of construction paper and glue sticks to "color" in the shapes we drew!
